An international project asks about cultural heritage in migration societies.
SHARED HERITAGE -
A project by the Institute for Cultural Management Ludwigsburg, Germany, and the Hamidrasha Faculty of Arts at Beit Berl College, Israel, funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.
The point of departure for this project is a cultural heritage model that has recently become prominent in Europe: that of Shared Heritage. It presents itself as a suitable answer to the complications of a migrated cultural heritage. However, is this model also tenable when multiple claims of ownership are formulated - when socio-political self-images diverge?
In the winter semester 2019/20, the Institute for Cultural Management at the University of Education Ludwigsburg is launching a two-year joint project with the Master’s degree program in Art Education at Beit Berl College near Tel Aviv on the topic of Shared and Contradictory Heritage? Perspectives on German and Israeli Arts, Museums and Societies.
